You may enjoy your daily skincare routine and still wonder: what would a professional facial add, and how do you choose one that suits you?
A professional facial involves more than the products on the treatment trolley. It brings together a conversation about your concerns, an assessment of your skin and a considered combination of products and techniques.
At SÉREN Le Moment, a private atelier on Sukhumvit 49 in Bangkok, that conversation is where your treatment begins.
Home skincare and salon facials have different roles
Your home routine provides regular cleansing, moisturising and daily attention. A salon facial gives you time with a therapist to discuss your skin and experience a combination of products and hands-on techniques.
Both department-store brands and brands used in professional treatments offer different formulations and approaches. Where a product is sold, or how much it costs, does not by itself determine how well it suits your skin.
Tell us about the products you already enjoy and the routine you follow. Understanding your everyday skincare helps us discuss what you would like from your visit.
What is a professional facial brand?
Here, we use the term for brands that place an emphasis on salon or spa treatments, therapist education and product selection informed by the skin’s condition.
The word “professional” does not mean that every product has the same concentration or characteristics. What matters is the product itself, why it is selected and how it is used within the treatment.
Biologique Recherche: starting with the skin’s condition
Biologique Recherche describes a three-stage methodology: assessment, preparation and treatment. Its approach places the assessment of the skin before the selection of products and treatment steps. Explore the brand’s methodology.
Margy’s Monte Carlo: an approach rooted in the treatment room
Margy’s Monte Carlo describes its origins in its founder’s work as a spa therapist. The brand develops facial protocols alongside home skincare products, connecting the treatment experience with everyday skincare. Explore the brand’s facial approach.
Different brands offer different approaches. At SÉREN, we explain the features of our facial menus and discuss your preferences with you.
What happens during a facial at SÉREN?
1. We listen to your concerns and preferences
Tell us what you have noticed about your skin, what you use at home and what matters most for this visit. You can also share preferences about pressure, comfort or simply having time to relax.
2. We assess your skin and explain the treatment
We consider your chosen menu alongside your skin’s condition on the day and explain the proposed products and treatment steps. Please tell us about anything you would prefer to avoid. If we suggest an additional treatment, we explain its scope and price and confirm your agreement before proceeding.
3. You can share your preferences throughout
You are welcome to let us know how the treatment feels and whether you would like the pressure adjusted. Clear communication is part of helping you feel comfortable during your visit.
4. We explain the products used
We explain the products used during your treatment so you can understand your experience. If you would like advice about your home routine, you are welcome to ask. Product purchases are entirely optional; you can simply enjoy your treatment.
Experience brought to each treatment
Célia Gratiot began her career as a therapist at Biologique Recherche in Paris, before progressing to national training in France, international training and regional training in Asia.
At SÉREN, this background informs an attentive approach to each guest. We take time to explain product choices and treatment steps so you can feel informed and comfortable with your experience.
Planning your first visit
You do not need to know every brand or treatment before getting in touch. If you are unsure where to begin, tell us about your concerns, preferences and the time you have available.
We can help you explore a facial at our quiet atelier on Sukhumvit 49 in Bangkok.
